Purpose
This page explains the general policy governing the existence, public availability, controlled handling, and potential provision of research artifacts related to SGT Lab publications.
It is intended to provide transparency regarding:
- what categories of research artifacts may exist,
- which materials are publicly released,
- which materials may remain controlled or unavailable, and
- the principles used when access outside public materials is considered.
This page is the primary policy reference for access-related conditions referenced in Methodology, Transparency, and Errata & Corrections.
Issue records may specify more specific availability, licensing, or access conditions for a particular publication or release.
Publicly released materials
Materials that are expressly made public may be accessed directly through the applicable publication or issue pages.
Where material is expressly released under an open license, including CC BY 4.0 where stated, reuse is governed by that license and does not require a separate permission request.
Publication-specific licensing, citation, and attribution conditions take precedence over general website language. See Terms and the applicable issue record.
Types of research artifacts (illustrative)
Depending on the publication, study design, research cycle, contractual conditions, and release policy, the following categories of artifacts may exist. Availability varies by issue and version.
- Clean / analysis datasets: de-identified datasets derived from survey responses and prepared under defined coding and processing rules. De-identification reduces risk but does not imply zero re-identification risk.
- Derived tables: aggregated, segmented, or reference tables used in analysis or publication.
- Codebooks / data dictionaries: documentation describing variables, labels, scales, coding rules, and question-group structures.
- Measurement specifications: versioned definitions, response scales, question specifications, and related controlled documentation.
- Questionnaire documentation: verbatim item wording, response-option wording, presentation order, questionnaire logic, instructions, and related materials where retained.
- Manifests and release notes: records describing version identifiers, generation dates, publication revisions, and documented release changes.
- Quality-control documentation: operational or study-specific records concerning cleaning, exclusion, or other quality-control procedures, where such records exist and may appropriately be disclosed.
The existence of an artifact category does not imply that every artifact exists for every issue, or that it is publicly released, routinely distributed, or available on request.
Availability levels
Materials released directly through publication or website pages.
Materials that may be considered for independent review under defined conditions, but are not openly published.
Materials that cannot appropriately be provided because of privacy, contractual, legal, security, research-integrity, or other material constraints.
The applicable issue record, publication, license notice, or administrative determination may further define the availability status of a specific artifact.
Outside scope
SGT Lab publications and related artifacts are descriptive and non-normative. SGT Lab does not provide the following through this policy:
- Legal, regulatory, or compliance determinations
- Certification outcomes, audit judgments, or assurance conclusions
- Custom revisions of published data or narratives to suit requester preferences
- Changes to definitions, scales, or coding rules intended to obtain a preferred result
- Advice, recommendations, or prescriptive guidance
- Bespoke analysis presented as a decision outcome
Access principles
Where access to non-public research artifacts is considered, the following principles apply.
- Consistency: definitions, scales, coding rules, and aggregation logic are not altered based on requester preferences.
- Versioning: artifacts are associated with specific studies, measurement specifications, publication revisions, and dates where applicable.
- Publication record integrity: provision of an artifact does not revise the historical published record. Published data or conclusions are not changed based on requester preferences.
- Privacy and re-identification risk: access may be restricted or declined where disclosure creates material privacy or re-identification concerns.
- Contractual restrictions: access may be restricted by panel-provider, vendor, licensing, or other contractual conditions.
- Research integrity: access may be declined where there is a credible risk of deceptive use, misrepresentation, manipulation of the publication record, or other materially harmful downstream use.
- Purpose limitation: consideration of controlled access does not imply that materials are available for general commercial, promotional, or unrestricted redistribution.
Access channels
SGT Lab does not operate sgtlab.org as an open application portal for requests for non-public research artifacts, bespoke data services, or custom usage arrangements.
Materials expressly released under an open license, including CC BY 4.0 where stated, may be reused under the terms of that license without a separate permission request.
Where independent verification is materially required (for example, bona fide academic replication, research-integrity review, or appropriate audit-related verification), access to controlled materials, if considered and granted, may be handled through a separate administrative process and under written conditions consistent with this policy.
This page defines scope and principles. It does not guarantee that any specific non-public artifact will be provided.

本ページは、SGT Lab刊行物に関連する研究成果物について、 「どのような種類の成果物が存在し得るか」 「何が公開されるか」 「何が統制対象・非公開となり得るか」 「どのような原則で扱うか」 を説明するための方針ページです。
公開白書、図表その他に CC BY 4.0 等のオープンライセンスが明示されている場合、 その資料は当該ライセンスに従って利用でき、 個別の利用許可申請は不要です。
一方、白書が公開されていることは、 生データ、分析用データセット、 設問原文、全選択肢、 質問ロジック、 QC記録、 その他の統制文書まで 無制限に公開されていることを意味しません。
非公開・統制対象の研究成果物については、 プライバシー保護、 再同定リスク、 契約上の制約、 研究インテグリティ、 誤用防止等を考慮して取り扱います。
