Purpose (descriptive reference)
This page presents a descriptive reference framework for organizing commonly discussed governance, oversight, and risk-related discussion dimensions when interpreting survey-based evidence related to home AI and robotics.
The purpose of this framework is to provide shared reference terms for discussion, navigation, and citation across organizations. It is not intended to prescribe compliance requirements, define regulatory criteria, or replace the measurement constructs and scales used in J-HAB.
This page does not disclose detailed questionnaire implementation. It should be read together with Methodology for the J-HAB measurement design and J-HAB series and issue records for published issue-specific evidence.
Governance discussion dimensions (reference labels)
The reference labels below describe discussion dimensions that frequently appear in governance, oversight, and risk-assessment conversations related to home AI and robotics. These labels are intended to function as shared reference terms.
They are descriptive rather than normative and are not presented as regulatory checklists, legal requirements, compliance criteria, or J-HAB response scales.
Legend:
D = Dimension (reference label).
These identifiers are for navigation and citation only
and do not correspond to legal articles,
regulatory requirements,
compliance criteria,
or measurement-variable identifiers.
Note: “D” here refers to discussion dimensions
and is not related to the
Data Governance
measurement domain in the J-HAB framework.
| ID | Dimension label (reference description) |
|---|---|
| D-01 | Perceived privacy expectations in private life and home contexts |
| D-02 | Perceived intrusion into dignity or intimate personal space |
| D-03 | Perceived burden of observation or surveillance |
| D-04 | Concerns related to data processing, storage, and transmission |
| D-05 | Perceived loss of control associated with autonomous behavior |
| D-06 | Expectations regarding transparency, notice, and explainability |
| D-07 | Concerns about third-party sharing and cross-border data handling |
| D-08 | Trust gaps related to overseas providers or origin effects |
| D-09 | Tolerance for safety or emergency intervention |
| D-10 | Vulnerable situations or persons as contextual factors |
Relationship to the J-HAB measurement framework
J-HAB organizes survey-based self-reported responses across three measurement domains:
空間文脈
Room × sensor conditions and private-life situations.
Autonomous actions and human-intervention / permission requirements.
Data sensitivity, processing, safeguards, retention, transparency, and sharing conditions.
The D-01 to D-10 labels on this page are interpretive discussion labels. They may be used to organize conversations around evidence, but they are not themselves J-HAB measurement domains, response scales, or compliance requirements.
Measurement areas represented in the 2025 baseline survey
The 2025 J-HAB baseline survey operationalizes the measurement framework through the following high-level measurement areas. Detailed item wording and full questionnaire logic are not reproduced on this page.
- Baseline Reluctance (R5) toward the presence of home AI / robotics in everyday life
- Spatial Context: room × sensor conditions and private-life situations
- System Behavior: autonomous actions and Permission / human-intervention requirement (AP4)
- Data Governance: Sensitivity Expectation (S5)
- Data Governance: processing conditions and Reassurance (AS5)
- Data Governance: Retention Allowance (RA5)
- Data Governance: purpose-based Consent (CN5) and third-party sharing
- Additional contextual measures: trust-related and other supporting survey items described in the published issue documentation
For the canonical description of measurement constructs, domains, and response scales, see Methodology .
For the published 2025 baseline evidence, see the J-HAB 2025 | Issue 2025-12 issue record .
Note on item wording and controlled documentation
Full item wordings, response-option wording, questionnaire logic, presentation order, and related controlled documentation may be maintained separately from public explanatory summaries.
Where such materials can appropriately be provided for bona fide research, independent verification, audit, or policy-review purposes, they are handled under the published Data Access policy.
